Schey Sales Centre Scholarships

As the inaugural recipient of The Doer Scholarship, I am honored to see its lasting impact on future business leaders. Ohio University and The Schey Sales Centre transformed my outlook as a community servant and entrepreneur. Being recognized for ‘getting it done’ was a defining moment in my college and professional career. This award inspires us to wear many hats, seize opportunities, and apply passionate energy to the unknown. The greatest lesson it taught me is to pay it forward—think BIG and bring future Doers along for the ride.

‘Doer’ Scholarship Winner

It’s been more than a decade since I graduated from Ohio University and was a member of The Schey Sales Center within the College of Business. Not only did I learn sales skills that propelled my career, but I met many dedicated alumni who still continue to provide mentorship today. I was fortunate to be the 2012 recipient of the ‘Doer’ scholarship, awarded by alumni Chris Johnson and Mike Cady. The financial reward was great, but the meaning behind the award was gratifying in and of itself. Although a lot of time has passed, I still remain an individual who pursues work and community involvement that I am passionate about. I feel that the essence of the scholarship continues to live on, even years later.  — Heather Wilson, CEO High Gear Success.
