GETTING TO KNOW AURORA DREYER:

Aurora Dreyer, a senior student-athlete at Huron High School, is a standout both on and off the court. As the team captain and opposite hitter for the varsity volleyball team, Aurora’s dedication and leadership are admired by her coach, Joshua Lien, who describes her as “one of the most dedicated athletes” he’s coached. Aurora emphasizes learning from mistakes and viewing setbacks as opportunities for growth, applying this philosophy to both sports and life. Her gratitude and team-first mindset make her an inspiring leader among her peers.

In addition to her athletic achievements, Aurora has danced for 14 years, describing it as her “safe place” where she can fully express her creativity and personality. She has a particular love for tap and Broadway-style dance, which allow her artistry to shine. Alongside her passion for sports and the arts, Aurora excels academically, maintaining straight A’s while taking on leadership roles. She serves as Vice President of the Key Club, first chair in band, a Huddle Leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a member of the Huron Youth Leadership Council.

Aurora also dedicates time to community service, volunteering with the nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace to help build and deliver beds for children in need. This fall, she plans to attend Dakota Wesleyan University to continue her volleyball career. Though undecided on her degree, Aurora plans to pursue a career in elementary education or children’s ministry. With her strong foundation in academics, leadership, and positive attitude, she has a bright future ahead.
