GETTING TO KNOW MORGAN KOLDA:

Morgan Kolda, a three-year team captain, plays both shooting and point guard for Miller High School’s basketball team. She first joined the sport in 3rd grade and has competed on the varsity team since 7th grade. Her hard work and determination recently culminated in her achieving a personal and school milestone—setting the record for the most career points, with an impressive 1,550!

Her coach, Eric Norden, has high praise for Morgan. “Her talent and relentless work ethic have earned her multiple All-Conference honors in the Big Dakota Conference,” he shared. “Morgan is a standout player not just because of her skill but also because of her determination to improve and contribute to her team’s success.”

Morgan humbly attributes her success to her support system. “Being a student athlete, I have accomplished many awards, but I know those awards were not accomplished on my own. It takes support from others and teamwork to accomplish anything,” Morgan said.

Morgan’s leadership extends beyond athletics. She maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society, and has been a Class Officer for four years. Balancing her academic and athletic commitments has been pivotal to her success. “I have always been committed to my studies and have consistently performed at a high level while balancing multiple responsibilities,” Morgan explained.

Morgan is also involved in her community. She has volunteered for causes such as the Beau Keeter Giveback Day, St. Lawrence Community Cleanup, and the Homecoming Community Cleanup. Additionally, she has served as the Varsity Football Student Manager and Statistician for three years, showcasing her versatility and dedication to her school.

This fall, Morgan will attend Lake Area Technical College, where she plans to pursue Surgical Technology, combining her drive for excellence with her passion for helping others.
