GETTING TO KNOW ELLIE PUTERBAUGH:

Favorite Food: Ribs

Favorite Quote: “It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort.” By Jillian Michaels

How did you get started in your sport: I first got started in dance at age three after my parents thought it would be something I’d enjoy. Gymnastics soon followed—I was cartwheeling everywhere we went—so they enrolled me in a kids’ gymnastics class, and my love for it grew from there. Track came next when I joined cross-country and my coaches encouraged me to give it a try. Tennis, however, was always part of my life since so many family members played. I joined the team my sophomore year and instantly fell in love with the game.

Sports Highlight: Qualifying for state on beam and vault in gymnastics my sophomore year and placing 5th at state tennis this past year.

Recognitions & Activities: 4.0 GPA, Varsity gymnastics (Most Improved award sophomore year; Most Valuable award junior year), tennis (Captain), & track (400s & 800s), dance at Core Kinetics Dance studio (14 years), student liason, President of Community Boards, President of Key Club, President of National Honors Society.

Fun Fact: I have been to almost half of the states.

Next Plans: I plan on attending SDSU and major in nursing to become a pediatric hematology and oncology nurse.
