GETTING TO KNOW JOLIE PALMER:
Favorite Food: I pretty much like every food unless it has tentacles or it’s wasabi.
Favorite Quote: “It’s not that deep.”
How did you get started in your sport: I’ve been around volleyball for as long as I can remember. My mom was a coach when I was a baby, so I literally grew up in the gym and around the sport. Basketball came into the picture in third grade when I joined the team—like most kids did in my small town—but it quickly became more than just something to do. My stepdad was also a coach, and his involvement deepened my connection to the game. As for track, I originally joined because it was what everyone did in the spring, but over time it became a great way to stay in shape and improve my performance in my other sports.
Sports Highlight: Competing at any state volleyball tournament.
Recognitions & Activities: 3.9 GPA, volleyball team captain, 1500+ career digs, ACE (Attitude, Character, and Effort) winner, BDC and CSDC All-Tournament Teams, Class A 1st Team All-State (2X), State A Tournament All-Tournament Team (2X), Basketball guard, 2x Defensive player of the year, track state qualifier (relay), National Honor Society, volleyball referee, theater, Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Fun Fact: I am funny.
Next Plans: My future plans include exploring a major in criminology or forensic studies. I’m keeping my options open as I look ahead, but I’m especially interested in attending the University of Minnesota.
